Beach Weddings on Edisto Island
Edisto Beach offers miles of pristine sand with plenty of open space to act as the perfect scenery for your event or wedding. Edisto hosts dozens of weddings each year and our local experts are prepared to help you create the perfect event. Edisto offers a variety of accommodations where you can stay before and after your event. Renting a private home on Edisto will give you and your guests a home base to prepare, relax and celebrate.
TIP: If you’re considering a wedding on the beach, you’ll want to check with The Town of Edisto Beach to determine if a permit is required and to understand the rules and regulations surrounding your event.
Generally, you need a permit if you will be inviting 50 or more guests or if you will be continuing entertainment after 10 pm. The Town’s beach regulations apply to your event such as: no glass containers on the beach, no fireworks and no open fires or grills. You are allowed to set up tents and chairs on the beach but please leave the beach the way you found it by dusk.
If you’re considering getting married out at Botany Bay, it has to be a small, no-frills ceremony, but it is definitely do-able!

Finding a Wedding Venue

If you’re concerned about pests becoming a nuisance at your outdoor wedding, contact an expert in outdoor pest control.
Catering and Spirits
For the tastiest of events and wedding receptions, consider one of our experienced Edisto caterers or order a wedding cake locally. We also offer full-service liquor stores.
Please clean up after your event to keep the beach clean for everyone including our endangered sea turtles. This includes taking everything with you that you brought for your event, especially trash and plastic bags.
Photography
Remember every moment by hiring a local event photographer. There is nowhere better for capturing beautiful sunsets, expansive ocean and marsh views, and landscapes than Edisto Island. Our local photographers know the best locations to take the most special photos.
